open submissions! Crooked Teeth is a recently Established Literary Magazine based out of San Francisco. We are currently accepting submissions for our third issue, scheduled to come out in Early 2018, exact date tba. submission deadline also tba.

Send us something!

We want stories that feature city life in some way, and use that setting to say something. Sound vague? Good! We want this to be an open concept.

No genre is off-limits.

We, the editors, love local stories that have something to say about the here and now. What's it like to live in Any Town, Anywhere, in 2017? We want to know. City life's a beautiful, twisted, terrifying piece of pie. Give us a slice.

The beauty of poetry is there really isn't any rules. If it works, it works. Of course we want urbanity to appear in some fashion, but we're not gonna sit here and tell you how to write your poem. If you think it's good, send her in.

That mid-century Beatnik aesthetic. Hitch-hiking Kerouac-esque hicks. Crotchety Mailmen in 1970's LA. If it would make Allen Ginsberg slowly nod his head in approval, we approve.

The greatest part of living in a city is how you can walk down a street and get a little taste of pretty much everything. We aren't gonna limit things to the written word and musical notes because a city is a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds and experiences. Do you have an awesome photo you took? Or a painting? Digital creation? We want 'em!

Please email all submissions to Crookedteethlitmag@gmail.com. Include a short bio in the body of your email, approximately 50-80 words in length. Tell us who you are, where you're from, and a little about your writing history.

faq: submissions

Q1: Can anyone submit? Do I have to live in the USA? Do I have to be a certain age?

A1: We accept work from anyone and everyone, anywhere in the world, of any age.

Q2: When is your current deadline?

A2: Right now, we are hard at work finishing up our second issue, "Fall of the City." The deadline for our third issue has yet to be announced, as we do not know when we will get the funds to publish it quite yet. Check back for updates on the submission deadline for the third issue.

Q3: When will I find out if my piece has been accepted or not?

A3: Currently, we are still sorting through submissions for our second issue, as we got many more submissions than originally anticipated. We will be in touch with every submitter via email as soon as the final decisions are made. Generally, this decision process does not take this long; submitters can expect an acceptance or rejection email two to three weeks after the deadline closes.

Q4: Do you accept work that's previously been published?

A4: Yes! As long as you have the rights to it, send it in.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to email us at crookedteethlitmag@gmail.com.
